There are also temporary exhibitions which change up to 5 times a year. The museum is a short walk from the high street and is open 10 – 5 Monday to Saturday and Sundays 2 – 5. Please note the museum has reduced opening times in the winter (1-4) Admission is free. Oaklands Park, Moulsham Street, CM2 9AQ Hylands houseChelmsford council bought the house in 1966 after the death of the last private owner. The house was bought in a sad state of repair, damaged though fire and vandalism, the house is now restored back to its former glory. There is a café, new visitor centre, gift shop, artist studios and guided tours are available.
